Our Students
The Immigrant Learning Center, Inc. (ILC) is an institution that exists because of people who come to the United States with hopes for a better future and seeking the American Dream. In return, immigrants and refugees become assets to America by making valuable contributions to the cultural and economic growth of our nation and communities. Since its inception in 1992, The ILC has served over 5,600 students from 94 countries who live in 60 Greater Boston communities and speak 40 different languages. Two-thirds of ILC students have a high school diploma from their native countries and one-third have college and advanced degrees. Most students achieve their goals such as finding a job, moving from part-time to full-time employment, receiving job promotions and raises, entering a training program or college, buying a home, starting a business and becoming U.S. citizens.
