The Institute for Immigration Research

The Immigrant Learning Center partnered with George Mason University to create the Institute for Immigration Research (IIR) in 2012 to produce valid, reliable and objective, multidisciplinary research on immigrants and immigration to the United States.

Since its founding, the Institute has contributed to a society where attitudes, policies and rhetoric about immigrants and immigration are based on data, reason and global contexts. Its work focuses on three primary areas: immigrant contributions and challenges; immigrant inclusion and investment; and immigration policies and pathways.
